FM:Systems and TSIG Consulting Donate Facility Management Software to Thailand University
Software used in the facility management master’s program to enhance job opportunities for students
RALEIGH, N.C. – June 19, 2007 – FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS), today announced that, in partnership with TSIG Consulting, they have donated a license for their facility management software to Sripatum University (SPU) in Thailand. The solution, FM:Space, will be used as part of the curriculum of the 1.5 year master’s program in facility management. TSIG Consulting, Inc. provides specialized systems, hardware, and consulting services to improve the financial and functional value of their client's infrastructure.
Busakorm Vorameth, who is on staff at TSIG Consulting Inc., teaches Data Management in Facilities Management at the university and requested the donation from FM:Systems to help students learn to manage databases, and therefore better prepare them for a successful career in the field of facility management.
“I did consider approaching other companies with products on the market,” says Vorameth. “But the user-friendly interface and exceptional functionality of the FM:Systems solution made it the best fit for Thailand businesses and my students.”
Students graduating from the program compete for facilities jobs in locations all over the world including Thailand, other Asian countries, Europe and the United States.
“We’ve been actively supporting FM education programs in the U.S. for more than ten years and we’re excited to see the profession growing globally. We appreciate the opportunity to help schools such as SPU as they develop their curricula in facility management,” says Michael Schley, president and founder of FM:Systems. “It’s important to give back to the community and encourage the growth of young professionals in our field.”
In the future Busakorm plans to use the software in more of her classes on the SPU campus, and has recently been asked to expand the curriculum into neighboring universities.
