About Patrick Okamura, CFM, CSS, CIAQM, LEED AP, facility manager, General Dynamics C4 Systems

As the facility manger for the 1.6M sq. ft. General Dynamics C4 Systems campus in Scottsdale, Arizona, Patrick is responsible for all facility management activities including operations and maintenance, construction, engineering, site tenant services and facilities IT needs. Patrick has more than 28 years in facilities management.  

Patrick was responsible for the corporation’s sustainability movement, which included certifying the world’s first largest industrial site LEED EB in 2005. Patrick served as president for the Greater Phoenix Area Chapter of IFMA (International Facility Management Association), founded the Presidents Group (a consortium of building support/service associations), and is a member of the International Credentials Committee. Patrick participated in developing the USGBC’s LEED operations and maintenance certification criteria representing the facilities management profession. Patrick is a member of the International Facility Management Council Arizona State University Del E. Web School of Construction. 

A proponent of education, Patrick is a certified instructor for IFMA, founded the Facility Management Research Institute, co-founded a graduate FM degree program at Arizona State University and is currently supporting the introduction of an FM undergraduate degree program at ASU.

Patrick holds several professional designations and holds an MBA and a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Patrick was the first graduate to receive a Masters of Science Degree in construction with an emphasis in facilities management from Arizona State University.

Patrick is a native of Arizona as is married to Terry, an elementary school teacher. Patrick has four children James 12, Emily 15, Brandon 23 and Tabatha 25. For relaxation he restores classic cars and enjoys all recreational sports.
