BIM + FM: Bridging the Divide
When: Tuesday, November 15 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST

Building information modeling (BIM) has emerged as a revolutionary new technology in the building industry and is dramatically changing the way new structures are designed and constructed. Instead of creating architectural drawings at the onset of planning, architects, engineers, and designers are using new technologies to create 3D digital representations that can hold the data needed as a building moves through its lifecycle. Now information is centralized, giving everyone access to the same data. This greatly improves communication and collaboration between stakeholders as the building evolves. Also, the embedded intelligence makes it possible for fast, easy analysis of other important considerations such as energy consumption and resource usage that are extremely valuable in designing efficient buildings.
But while BIM has proven its value in building design and construction, how can it support the facility management phase of a building’s lifecycle? Join us as Marty demonstrates the FM:Interact BIM Integration Component and discusses ways to help you leverage the spatial and systems information in BIM models to improve space, occupancy and maintenance management.
